Allan J Bienenstock died peacefully in his sleep on October 3, 2025 in Manhasset, NY at the age of 91.

Allan is survived by his wife Pian Pian Zhao, his daughter Marsha Bienenstock, son-in-law Gary Riveles, granddaughter Emily, and grandson Matthew. He is preceded in death by his first wife Frances (Friedland) and his brother Martin Bienenstock.

Allan was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 11, 1933 to Louis and Betty Bienenstock. He served in the Korean War from 1953-1954 as a private at Fort Dix in New Jersey as a young man and was honorably discharged.

After moving to the Bronx, Allan worked as a photostat operator at the Photostat Corporation. In 1956, Allan and Frances welcomed the birth of their daughter Marsha. Marsha remembers her father as light-hearted and very sociable, always telling jokes. Allan was accomplished at taking care of electrical tasks like his father.

As a youth, Allan was a very fast runner who raced trolley cars in Brooklyn, across the Williamsburg bridge. Allan loved having dogs and his first dog was named Teddy, who he used to run with and race. He also had his own promotional marketing business for many years.

The funeral for Allan is scheduled for Thursday, October 16 2025, at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, located at 2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735. The funeral will take place at 2pm sharp so please arrive early.

Rabbi Sharon Ballan will officiate the ceremony following military honors. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Allan’s life.
