Brownie W. Davis

Brownie W. Davis passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Manhasset, NY at the age of 92.

Brownie is survived by his wife, Stacy Trachten, his children, Brenda Davis and Bruce Davis, his grand children and his great-grandson, his brother Chester, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many others he considered extended family.

Brownie was born on March 13, 1933 in Philadelphia.  His mother moved the family to  NY and he later got married and started his family.

During his lifetime he was a member of various civic organizations.  Most notably, he was a member of the 100 Black Men of Queens, which is now known as the United Black Men of Queens. He was a board member of the Harlem YMCA, and served at one point as Chairman.  Brownie also served as a member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, h e was a top insurance producer for NY Life and was elected by his peers to serve on the agent advisor council.  In his continued growth, he opened his own insurance agency, the Brownie W. Davis Agency Corp.

Brownie was a great husband, father and mentor to many.  His famous saying was "What your mind can conceive, you can achieve".  He was an avid fitness enthusiast since he was young. At his peak he was a finalist in the  AAU Mr. Eastern America body building competition.  Prior to his illness, he was still a certified personal trainer.

His memorial service will be held at New Leaf Cremation on Saturday April 26, at 10 am with the inurnment service at Pine Lawn Memorial Park 1pm.
