Jose Avalos, was born February 12, 1933 in Trujillo, Peru. He lost his battle to cancer on June 7, 2022 in Queens, NY. His final days were spent at home enjoying his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His heart was filled with so much love for us. All members of our family had a personal connection to him. Anyone who met Jose would quickly learn of how proud he was of his family.
He worked tirelessly to provide for us. He taught us the value of hard work. One of the ways he expressed his love was through cooking. He would say "you need to look into the eyes of the fish" whenever we went to the market to pick out what would be the main dish. Often in conversation, he would share stories about his childhood and experiences offering advice and wisdom. We know he will be looking over everyone one of us. He will be missed.
Papi, we miss you and love you.
