Mary Ellen McCann, of Farmingdale, New York, passed away at the age of 93. Born on November 22, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York.

Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband, John J. McCann, and her son, John G. McCann. She is survived by her daughter, Susan E. McCann, and her grandson, John McCann, who will forever carry forward her love, her steadiness, and the values she instilled.

Throughout her long life, Mary Ellen was known for her elegance, a quiet grace that shaped the way she moved through the world. She shared a profound and enduring love with her husband, John—a partnership defined by loyalty, tenderness, and a deep sense of shared purpose. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, mutual respect, and an unwavering commitment to family.

Her love for her family was the guiding force of her life, the center from which she drew strength and purpose. Mary Ellen’s legacy is one of quiet strength and enduring love.

Those who knew her will remember her style, her intellect, and her deep love for her family and friends. Her presence brought comfort, her insight brought clarity, and her love—offered freely and without condition—remains her greatest gift to those she leaves behind.

A Funeral Mass and a Remembrance Moment will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, 485 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735.  Burial following at Long Island National Cemetery, 2004 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY.

The family deeply appreciates your love and support. A private repast for close family and friends will follow offering a peaceful space to share memories and honor the light Mary Ellen brought into their lives.
